Whether you’re looking to debate the art of strategic thinking or just shoot the breeze about baseball, Salvatore Trifilio is your guy. Sal, who gives the chatterboxes at Content Boost a run for their money, is… how should we say it?… quite verbal.
Fortunately, Sal’s love for words, creative thinking and storytelling is a perfect match for the job of a Content Boost Content Producer (have you caught his killer blogs?). Learn more about Sal in our latest five-minute catch up:
- Do you have a nickname?
Not exactly. Sure, Sal is short for Salvatore but let’s be honest, shortening your name by six letters is a pretty lame definition of a nickname. My Italian uncle who lives in Germany (go figure) calls me Salvo (Sal-VOH), but that’s just the Italian way of shortening my name. I tried to make “Trif” catch on for a while… but that never happened. Ok, fine. I don’t have a nickname.
- If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
Does nowhere count as an answer? It’s not that I haven’t given this question a lot of thought, I have. I’ve just always been of the philosophy that the best place to live in the world is the place where you’re most happy. Today, that’s Bridgeport. Tomorrow that could be my family’s home in the south of Italy. Ten years from now, who knows?
- What do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m one of those people who can have fun doing just about anything. When it’s up to me, I like to spend my free time skateboarding by the beach, playing and watching sports and being creative. I’m currently working on a documentary with a good friend of mine called “NORMAL” about life as a millennial, or being normal or something like that. I’m not quite sure what it’s about actually, but we’ve got a lot of great footage!
- If you could be on any reality TV show what would it be? And more importantly, could you win?
When I was growing up, I remember during the summer I would watch “The Price is Right” with Bob Barker basically every day with my grandparents. It’s one of my favorite memories as a young child so I’d probably have to choose this one. That being said, of course I couldn’t win. Drew Carry is the host now so it’s not even “The Price is Right” anymore as far as I’m concerned. How does one win a game that no longer exists?
- What is your favorite quote?

- What is one thing prospective and existing clients should know about Content Boost that they don’t already?
When it comes to what you can do with Content Boost, the possibilities are essentially limitless. Whether you’re considering us to address your marketing needs or have been a client for years, there is so much more we can do together. We have an amazing team of immensely creative people, who are driven and have great vision. I can confidently say that any one person on the Content Boost team is capable of coming in and running an entire marketing department, and when you take a bunch of those people and put them in the same room and allow them to collaborate and reach their goals, the sky really is the limit.
- What motivated you to join Content Boost?
I’ve been passionate about writing for as long as I can remember. One of the reasons I attended a Jesuit university was for a diverse curricula where I could be challenged to write in a number of different voices, styles and formats. I enjoyed having a challenge and having to adapt in order to accomplish my goals and I found that here at Content Boost too. I love being challenged and being able to use my writing to help other people find their voice and give them the words they dream of, but can’t seem to get down on the blank page.
- What do you like most about working at Content Boost?
I love the creative culture here. Our clients come to us with a vision of what they want in a content marketing strategy and it’s up to us to get them there. Most of our clients trust us with our work and others want to be more a part of the equation. As a creative person, there are times where my big picture thinking can really push the boundaries of what our client has in mind. But with help from the team and the proper execution, we end up surprising our clients in the best way possible and introduce them to an entirely new part of their brand they may not have known existed. I’ve learned to push the limits of my creativity when the situation warrants it, and I can’t wait to see how I grow in this capacity while working here.
- Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn for business, you can only choose one, which do you choose?
Facebook, hands down. If I’m going to choose a social media to promote my business I’m going with the guys who basically invented the platform. I love how with Facebook there isn’t a character limit (like on Twitter) and that it’s a relevant social media platform that is constantly changing for the better (the opposite of LinkedIn). Plus, there are rumors floating around tech circles that Facebook just released a workplace version of the social media platform that could make your business’s intranet obsolete. Yeah, I’ll take Facebook any day.
- Who on the Content Boost editorial team would be most likely to survive on an island an why?
Gerald Baldino. I once watched that guy eat an entire bag of dehydrated mango that smelled (and tasted) like kerosene… I can’t even stomach mushrooms. Plus, at the speed Gerald reads and comprehends new concepts, I feel like he’d be the most adaptable in a life or death situation.
