Being a social media marketing manager is no walk in the park. Managing numerous social accounts, launching strategic campaigns and shifting through metrics can make anyone’s head spin— unless you’re Content Boost’s Diana Stein.
As CB’s very own “social media guru,” Diana began her career in 2008, representing the social presence of several well-known recording artists. Since then, Diana has been involved in social media marketing for local businesses, non-profit organizations and everything in between.
With an impressive ability to multi-task, Diana has helped clients take their social presence to new heights (including our own) and always keeps abreast the latest industry trends. Did we mention she’s got a knack for blogging too?
“When I was a kid, social media didn’t exist – at least not in the capacity that it does today. It’s so exciting to be able to be part of the ‘social media revolution’ and see how marketing continues to evolve into a much more interactive environment. It gives businesses, large and small, a scope of possibilities that didn’t exist not long ago,” said Diana.

I love to be creative. I play the piano, paint, I love design. Spending time with family and friends is very important to me. I also love my dog, yoga, fashion and food… all food. You can lure me just about anywhere with a good cheese platter.
What was your first job? High school counts!
My first job was at a small pastry shop. I sampled pretty much everything. I still remember what’s in that German chocolate cake and how much it costs for a 6” vs. a 9”… steel trap.
Any recent milestones or accomplishments? New parent? Did you just finish a marathon? Recently married?
I got married earlier this year to a pretty amazing guy. I lucked out.
Are you more productive in the morning or afternoon and why?
It depends on what I’m doing, but generally the morning. I always wake up around 7 am, even on weekends. I guess we do eventually turn into our parents (which is not a bad thing!).
If you could be on any reality TV show what would it be? And more importantly, could you win?
I would go on “The Hills.” They stare at each other at lunch and chew… with some occasional gossip thrown in. I could totally do that! Could I win? I think the only definition of winning on “The Hills” is not losing your dignity, so yes.
What is your favorite quote?
“All of your failures are training grounds.”—Shakespeare. Look at your failures and disappointments and realize it’s just an opportunity to learn and grow.

What question do you get asked most by clients?
What’s the difference between a hashtag (#) and the handle symbol (@) on social media? It’s obvious to some, but if you’re new to social media it can be like a foreign language. Another big one is deciding what hashtags to use and when the best times to tweet are.
What’s your favorite content marketing vehicle and why?
Social media (obviously!) – Twitter specifically. It’s the most interactive and lets you get a chance to not just talk, but listen. Don’t underestimate the value of being able to listen in on the thoughts of your customers, potential customers and competitors.
If Content Boost was an 80’s brat pack movie—what movie would it be and what character would you be?
Don’t judge me, but I’ve only seen about one brat pack movie. I tend to fall asleep during movies. Going to the movie theatre typically turns out to be an expensive nap.
Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn for business, you can only choose one, which do you choose?
Twitter makes it easiest to connect with and interact with the right people, and see who they are on both a personal and professional level. There’s something there for everyone.
