Employee Spotlight: Five Minutes with Content Producer, Brooke Neuman

shutterstock_142997941We often reminisce about the early days of Content Boost—in which a group of pioneer editors set out to feverishly grow the division. Content Producer Brooke Neuman was one of those pioneers. After working at TMC, CB’s parent company, as a copy editor, Brooke was cajoled (uh… bribed?) into becoming one of CB’s very first team members. Almost two years later, this veteran Content Producer has helped dozen of clients launch their content marketing strategies.

With a bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Journalism from Endicott College—and a four-year lacrosse pedigree to boot (Go Gulls!)—Neuman has a knack for writing and teamwork.

IMG_0194 (1)“I’ve always loved writing and collaborating with others. And at Content Boost I get to do both, whether it’s collaborating with a client on a new email marketing campaign or working internally with other team members on an exciting  new project,” she said.

When she’s not in the office munching on Stew Leonard’s trail mix (which she highly recommends), you can find her at the beach paddle boarding, coaching lax, or spending her hard-earned paycheck shopping. Learn more about Brooke in our five-minute catch-up:

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why?

Although the thought of sitting on a plane for 12-and-a-half hours straight makes me break out in hives and I have yet to actually make the trip, I would love to live in Bali, Indonesia. Not only does it have the world’s most beautiful beaches, but the weather is always hot and there are tons of fun activities!

If your house was burning down, what three things would you save?

My photo albums, iPhone (I avoid Apple stores at all cost!) and a painting I inherited from my parents.

What is your favorite quote?

In the words of Bobby McFerrin, “Don’t worry, be happy!”IMG_0432

Three words that best describe you.

Cool, calm, and collected. I’ve always prided myself on my ability to keep calm during stressful situations whether it be at work or in my personal life. Like my mom always says, “Never let them see you sweat.” (Thanks mom!)

Are you more productive in the morning or afternoon and why?

It’s funny because I’m not a morning person whatsoever, but I’m definitely more productive during the hours of 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., probably because I chug about three cups of coffee when I get to work! Yes, I am entirely grateful for the Content Boost Keurig.

What motivated you to join Content Boost?

Besides the fact that Content Boost has an amazing team of people and is backed by 40 years of marketing expertise, I would have to say the opportunity to learn and explore all types of marketing. At Content Boost, we do everything from white paper development to email marketing to social media management to video creation. You don’t always get to work at a company in which you have the opportunity to do it all and work with so many leading companies.

If Content Boost was an 80’s brat pack movie—what movie would it be and what character would you be?

“Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” Not only do we have a close-knit team at Content Boost (just like Ferris, Sloane, and Cameron), but everyone has their own distinct personality that contributes something unique to the group.  I would be Ferris, not because I try to play hooky at work (wink), but because who wouldn’t want to break out with an impromptu song and dance on a float?

Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn for business, you can only choose one, which do you choose?

Definitely, Twitter. I think that it’s such a powerful networking tool where businesses can really show their personality and share content. (Shameless plug: Check me out @BNeuman28)

What do you like most about working at Content Boost?

What I like most is working directly with clients. At Content Boost, we pride ourselves on becoming an extension of our client’s marketing teams. I love when I get a phone call or email from a client asking for my opinion on a headline or a new email marketing campaign. It’s a partnership, and I’m invested in each and every one of my client’s success.

Biggest prediction for the content marketing industry in five years… GO!

While I’m not Joe Pulizzi, my biggest prediction for the content marketing industry is that companies will increase the number of distribution channels they use to promote content. For example, applications like SnapChat and Vine will become huge for both B2C and B2B brands.
