Employee Spotlight: Five Minutes with Digital Content Editor, Eric Lebowitz

shutterstock_142997941Eric Lebowitz joined the Content Boost family as one of its very first Digital Content Editors, and quickly made an impression with his larger than life personality and commitment to hard work. Before joining the team, Eric worked at the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut and “Golf Digest Magazine.” Known around the office as the unofficial (or official if you ask him) “Content Boost Mayor,” Eric brings to the table many years of experience in content creation and has helped dozens of clients boost their website traffic and customer acquisition.

“The most rewarding part of my job is collaborating with clients. Nothing beats hearing a client say that we’ve given their blog new life or helped them execute a high-impact marketing campaign,” Eric said.

What do you do in your spare time?

I am an admitted golf addict. If the temperature is above freezing, I’m on the course. When I come to work on Monday morning my mood is largely determined by how well—or poorly—I played over the weekend. But I don’t throw clubs anymore out of frustration—usually.

Any recent milestones or accomplishments? New parent? Did you just finish a marathon? Recently married?eric's employee spotlight

If you are reading this before Oct. 11, I am closing in on my wedding date! If you are reading this after Oct. 11, I am a newlywed who (hope against hope) enjoyed a beautiful ceremony where everything went exactly as planned.

Are you more productive in the morning or afternoon and why?

I am always more productive in the morning. I am definitely a victim of the after lunch, 2:30 p.m. sleepy syndrome. Every day right around that time my energy level starts to dip, which means it’s time for a visit to the Keurig. Usually by 3:15 or so I get a second wind and then I’m good to go for the rest of the day.

If you could be on any reality TV show what would it be? And more importantly, could you win?

Without a doubt, I would choose “The Big Break” on the Golf Channel. Players competing in various golf competitions on a beautiful course—what’s not to like? Unfortunately, I would not win. I am a pretty good player, but not on the same level as the contestants on the show. Even so, I’d go just for the awesome golf and the experience!

If your house was burning down, what three things would you save?

My guitar, my golf clubs, and my fiancée’s jewelry—I’m not stupid!

What is one thing prospective and existing clients should know about Content Boost that they don’t already?

What constantly amazes me about our team is how much everybody genuinely cares about doing excellent work for our clients. I realize that sounds a little cliché, but it also happens to be true. I work with some of the most dedicated people I’ve met anywhere, people who take pride in their work and our clients’ successes.

What motivated you to join Content Boost?

I’d had my eye on content marketing for awhile because I was a former journalist and I felt like my skill set would be a good match. I have a natural curiosity, so I love to dig deep into research to find out everything there is to know about a particular topic. When I began the interview process at Content Boost and learned a lot of the team members were also former journalists and marketers I knew I’d be right at home here.

What do you like most about working at Content Boost?

I love to write and I write almost all day every day, so that’s a pretty good match. Coming from a journalism background, the idea of writing about so many different topics and industries was extremely intriguing to me. As a marketer it is my job to become an expert in whatever I am writing about, and that responsibility gives me the opportunity to learn every day I come to work. That keeps the job both fun and stimulating, which is exactly what I was hoping for when I started here.

If Content Boost was an 80’s brat pack movie—what movie would it be and what character would you be?

I am going to say “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” just because I like the idea of saying I’d be Ferris. Actually, I was a little bit like him in high school, always scheming and goofing around. Nothing serious, just wise- guy stuff. I would have loved the chance to sing “Twist and Shout” during a parade. That never happened, unfortunately.

What’s the funniest thing that’s ever been said in the Content Boost editorial area?

Any time Brooke tries to use an idiom is pretty classic. If you hear someone say to “take it with a grain of sand,” it’s probably her.
