I Love You, Warby Parker

Warby Parker has, in my humble opinion, re-invented the world of eyeglasses. They’ve made them hip, fun, and accessible.

WarbyParkerIf you’re not familiar with the company, here’s how it works: You choose five frames you like, the company then sends them to you to try on at home, and you send them back. Shipping is free and they give you a pre-paid box to return them when you’re done. If you find a pair you like, you simply send in your existing prescription and order them through the website. They’re only about $100 per pair, which includes the frames and lenses. Oh, and did I mention that for every pair you buy, Warby Parker shares a pair with someone in need?

Let me start with the beginning of my romance with Warby. I had just gotten brand new Coach glasses and a co-worker said to me, “Are those Warby Parker?” I had no idea who Warby Parker was, and when he mentioned that they sell incredibly inexpensive eyewear, I had immediately assumed that my $500 glasses looked cheap. Jumpstarting Your Brand’s Snapchat Presence with ‘My Story’ Feature

Snapchat, a photo and video sharing application, for business may not seem like the most natural fit at first glance, but hear me out. The company’s “My Story” feature may just change your mind.

The platform, which has a demographic made up of primarily 13 through 17 year olds, is known for its short messages that automatically delete after a certain number of seconds, pre-determined by the user. Think of a text message that automatically deletes five seconds or so after you open it. Kids and young adults have been latching onto the platform to share messages with their friends, and businesses are starting to slowly follow.snapchat_grubhubpromo Continue reading “Jumpstarting Your Brand’s Snapchat Presence with ‘My Story’ Feature”

Is Your Brand Undergoing a Big Change? Take a Page from Shake Shack

Let me start with this. If you haven’t been to Shake Shack, do yourself a favor and try it out. The menu even has options for your four-legged friend; what’s not to love? A favorite of many was Shake Shack’s crinkle-cut fries. But recently, the fries have been replaced with their fresh-cut counterpart.

Since Shake Shack came onto the scene back in 2004, it has been serving crinkle-cut fries to accompany the many burger and hotdog options. Recently, restaurant goers said that the chain could “do better,” which inspired Shake Shack to try out a new take on its traditional fries. In efforts to move away from frozen options and towards more wholesome products, Shake Shack made the decision to sell exclusively fresh-cut fries at its 20 U.S. locations.

10 Things Never To Do On Social Media

Social media is a great way to promote your brand, but if you’re making these mistakes, you’re risking send all your hard work right down the drain.

  • It’s been a month since you’ve posted. The frequency of posts often depends on the social media platform, but as a general rule – post daily! If you know you’re going to have a hectic day and won’t have time to post, schedule your messages through services like HootSuite or TweetDeck .
  • You don’t’ respond to comments. Your followers took the time to reply to one of your comments or tag you in a post. Show them the same respect – reply to them, even if it’s simply a quick thank you.
  • Me, me, me. Everyone loves talking about themselves and their business, but not everyone loves to hear about it! Especially when it’s overly self-promotional.
  • You’ve paid for friends. You can find many sites out there offering to sell you hundreds or thousands of fans. Promise me you won’t do it. You’ll get low quality followers who don’t care about what you have to say and may not even be real people. Quality over quantity, friends. Continue reading “10 Things Never To Do On Social Media”

Facebook Graph Search Has Arrived

You may have heard that Facebook has rolled out Graph Search early this week for all English-speaking users in the United States. So what’s Graph Search, you may be asking.

Graph Search adds dimension to your Facebook searches, allowing you to search in a more “natural” way. Want to know what restaurants your friends like in the area? Simply type in “Restaurants in Connecticut that my friends like.” Want to see older photos of your friends? Type “Photos of Jane Doe before 2009” into the search bar.
