Content Boost Sweepstakes: Because Who Doesn’t Want Free Blogs and an Apple TV?

shutterstock_147643232We’ve all received this email: “Fill out our 10-minute survey for the chance to win an Amazon gift card [or insert other gift here].” And chances are you’ve probably deleted it. After all, who really has the time to fill out a survey these days? And 10 minutes? Yeah right.

So I have something better for you. I know you are in need of some sort of content marketing help. How do I know this? My good friends at Content Marketing Institute (CMI) contend that 93 percent of B2B and 90 percent of B2C marketers are leveraging content marketing even though only 42 percent of B2B and 34 percent of B2C marketers feel they are effective at it. The market research overwhelmingly confirms a central theme: marketers want in with content marketing but they are wholly unprepared to launch a successful strategy because they deal with time, resource and budgetary constraints.

shutterstock_142997941Eric Lebowitz joined the Content Boost family as one of its very first Digital Content Editors, and quickly made an impression with his larger than life personality and commitment to hard work. 20 Sure-Fire Signs You’re a Content Marketer

shutterstock_182447726This past weekend I was out to dinner with some friends when the topic of work came up. After explaining a typical day in the life of a content marketer, my non-marketing friend turned to me and said “Oh, so you write for a living?” Immediately two thoughts came to mind: I need to get smarter friends and I should blog about this exact moment.

Content marketers are a rare breed in that we’re a fourth journalist, two-thirds marketer, one-tenth planner, one-eighth creative thinkers… Did I get the math right? I didn’t say we were mathematicians. We possess the traits of a journalist in that we’re inherently curious and passionate about writing, but we’re also strategic thinkers and metrics-driven like marketers and planners. Employee Spotlight: Five Minutes with Managing Content Producer, Allison Boccamazzo

shutterstock_142997941Organized, personable and diligent are three words that best describe Content Boost’s Managing Content Producer, Allison Boccamazzo. If you see a bunch of to-do lists on a desk you know Allison is not far.

As a former TMC Web Editor, Allison was welcomed into the CB family as one its very first Content Producers. Shortly after, she was promoted to Managing Content Producer in which she’s now responsible for managing CB’s team of (vivacious) editors. Top Content Marketing Mistakes Holding You Back

Eventige Blog 12014 may not be over yet but we’ve already seen our fair share of content marketing success stories: Uber barreled onto the scene reinventing the way in which we hail cabs and blog with hyper-local entries; the White House launched an interactive photo gallery (boasting over 150 behind-the-scenes images); and British Airways demonstrated the power of social by unveiling a #lookup campaign, featuring children on live-action billboards who point every time a British Airways plane flies overhead.

But while a number of brands are enjoying immense content marketing success, the great majority is still lost in this new age of marketing. In fact, though 93 percent of B2B marketers use content marketing, only 42 percent of them feel they are effective, according to research by the Content Marketing Institute (CMI). The numbers are 90 percent and 34 percent, respectively, for B2C marketers.

20 Most Unforgettable Quotes from CMWorld 2014

shutterstock_140911936This past week, over 2,500 marketing and business leaders from over 50 countries descended into Cleveland for Content Marketing World 2014 for four days of information-laden educational sessions, keynotes and workshops, highlighting everything from content creation to social media to data-driven ROI.

I was lucky enough to sit in on some incredible sessions lead by today’s top influences, including Joe Pulizzi, Andrew Davis,  Jay Baer,  and Ann Hadley to name a few (Yes, I sadly had to leave to before Kevin Spacey’s closing keynote to catch my plane, but don’t worry, I stalked Twitter for his key sentiments!). Having listened to dozens of experts over the years, I’ve heard some pretty inspirational quotes and received some outstanding advice, but there’s something about CMWorld 2014 that reignited my “marketing fire.”

So I thought I would share with you 20 of the most unforgettable quotes from this year’s show in hopes of inspiring you: Continue reading “20 Most Unforgettable Quotes from CMWorld 2014”

Tips for Staying in the Marketing Moment

A lot goes into successful content marketing. Meticulous planning, creativity, timing and an intimate knowledge of your brand message are all critical ingredients that together help marketers create engaging, effective content.

One concept marketers—me included—often overlook, however, is the importance of staying present and connected to the moment and task immediately ahead. Although it may seem like a wacky, Zen-like precept, staying firmly in the moment can mean the difference between success and failure.

Forrester Dishes out Tips for Ushering Your New Product through the Launch Phase

Customers have made it more than clear that today, businesses exist in their domain. Today’s empowered customers have thrown a wrench into traditional selling schemes and, as a result, have made the new product market that much more difficult to break into. For instance, manufacturing strength, distribution power and information mastery are no longer considered competitive advantages, according to Forrester Research’s latest “Competitive Strategy In the Age of the Customer” report.

A Look Back at Day One of CMWorld

CaptureContent Marketing World (CMWorld) officially kicked off today in style, with no shortage of orange apparel, cutting-edge keynote addresses, standing room only breakout sessions, and orange-themed finger food.

As a second-year participant, there were iconic moments that kept me on my feet all day. Specifically, I couldn’t wait to see Joe Pulizzi’s latest orange suit (it did not disappoint); I eagerly—err maybe aggressively—pushed my way through the throngs of people to get first row seats at the coveted breakout sessions; and I relished each and every networking event. Who knew you could so easily talk content strategy while grabbing grub at food trucks?
